Angry Birds Adventure Golf is a new leisure attraction located in Gateshead and operated by Bandai Namco, the Japanese multinational video game developer famed for inventing Pacman.
Namco's UK arm approached Bumbl to help launch its new Angry Birds-themed adventure golf venue, in order to build awareness and drive online bookings.
As a brand new venue, the immediate challenge was to maximise noise on social media and beyond in the run up to launch date. There was a need to create exciting content that would appeal to audiences in the region, building anticipation, and later turning attention into footfall and online bookings.
We designed a social media strategy to build awareness and followers quickly with paid media, initially focusing on video views and brand engagements to measure success. When the launch date approached, we switched our attention to driving bookings, retargeting audiences that we could label as brand aware, and those that had shown interest in the venue. Post launch, we continued to optimise paid activity across social media and search for online bookings, consistently generating a very healthy return on investment which averaged 8.11 over the first six months.
