A Virtual Event For British Businesses
Challenge
As Export Ambassadors, Crowd take an active role in promoting British creativity overseas. And with support from the Department for International Trade, we launched an online event to provide insights and opportunities to British businesses. With the current climate, and Brexit on the horizon, the ability to take advantage of overseas opportunities is becoming more important than ever before. Crowd’s global reach has enabled us to connect with a wide range of industry experts whose knowledge and advice would be invaluable to British Businesses. But although insight is incredibly helpful, an actionable export plan is always the hardest part. So how could Crowd help businesses move forward and provide a clear route to market rather than simply provide tips and advice?
Solution
Crowd created Exporting Excellence – a virtual event to connect British businesses with export ambassadors, and create a workable Export plan. The ‘GoDigitalExpo’ platform was created from the ground up, and designed to showcase video interviews from industry experts across various sectors, hold interactive Q&A’s, and 1-to-1 meetings to help businesses develop their export plan. With an automated registration and booking system, attendees and speakers could manage their own event itineraries. Marketing the event The 3 day event was marketed with a special social media pack for keynote speakers and event partners to share with their network. The pack drew on branding from the event but highlighted the fact that companies could leave the event with a workable export plan. Building partnerships As well as creating a brand new digital platform, Crowd gained the attention of the Britain Is Great Campaign, the DTI, and London & Partners, all of whom put their names behind the event. This enabled Crowd to reach an even wider audience and attract a diverse selection of British Businesses all looking to expand into overseas markets. Positive PR Exporting Excellence not only exceeded it’s target of 100 companies, it also attracted lots of positive attention from both the press and attendees. Thanks to a carefully orchestrated campaign, Crowd’s efforts were widely discussed in many publications which combined with the social media pack enabled Exporting Excellence to reach a wide and varied audience. Positive feedback Exporting Excellence enabled many companies to put together a workable plan, and give them a positive view of the global opportunities.
Results
Overall, the campaign performed incredibly well, achieving a higher reach (811k+ total campaign impressions) and engagement (258k+ total ThruPlay views) than was forecasted at the start of the campaign. Our video ThruPlay views were 244% higher than estimated and a total of 900 shares in the space of a week. 80% rated 5 out of 5 717 Total sessions 61+ Hours of watch time
