Challenge
Developing a unique interactive sustainability report for a niche real estate investment firm. Challenge KA Real Estate is the real estate arm of Kayne Anderson Capital Partners, L.P., a leading alternative investments firm. Niche sectors are at the cornerstone of their business and include medical offices, senior housing, student housing, and self-storage. The firm was looking for a way to demonstrate to investors their commitment to environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles through their annual Sustainability Report and came to Adler for help.
Solution
In order to deliver a standalone piece that was both highly portable and epitomized KA Real Estate’s core values and sustainable investing practice, Adler chose to design the report as navigable PDF. This format is easily shared digitally and downloaded — invaluable in a COVID-19 environment — when in-person meetings are not possible. Implementing a visually engaging layout that is rich with iconography, the report succeeds in providing interactivity and allows users to easily self-direct their experience based on their interests while seamlessly communicating the firm’s philosophy and mission to their stakeholders throughout the report.
