Challenge
Chador is a women-owned Saudi apparel company that specializes in luxury kaftans and abayas. In just two years, the brand had garnered recognition and accolades from Vogue, Elle Arabia and Style.com. Using only Instagram and word-of-mouth referrals for promotion, Chador’s bi-annual sample sales would regularly sell out in under an hour. Realizing they had outgrown the local seasonal pop-up shop model, they approached us to help them graduate to global ecommerce sales.
Solution
The custom Shopify website we developed for Chador is designed to allow them to continue advertising their luxury seasonal sales while also promoting – and selling! – their new ready-to-wear ecommerce line, Sabel. Custom page types offer a space to announce events, tout press coverage, and showcase past and upcoming collections. The finished product is a responsive website that is as chic and intriguing as their brand. The challenge here was to promote and sell the ecommerce line, Sabel, while maintaining focus on the parent brand, Chador. Detailed wireframes allowed us to finalize the hierarchy of content and navigation right away, and gave the client a clear view of how the website would look and function before the design phase had even begun.
