Challenge

Kids Foot Locker didn’t have the foot traffic they wanted during the key back-to-school season – when they saw 80% of their annual sales. In addition, they faced the perennial retailer challenge of having to promote their store as a destination, while also promoting the marquee shoe brands themselves.

Solution

We knew that Kids Foot Locker could triumph with an understanding of how athleticism differs from adult to adolescent and shifted the parent strategy of “fitting right” to a kid-centric one of “fitting in.” We then activated the new positioning, producing National TV, In-store promotions, Partnerships, Print and OOH. Our “You Game?” campaign included the first ever kid commercials for Nike & adidas

Results

6 mos. post launch, average stores sales were up 34% vs. YA. Peaking at an outstanding 51% increase vs. YA. Sales of featured shoes increased as much as 693% vs. YA.
