Tazscapes Inc. is a Calgary landscaping company offering full-service landscape design and construction of both large and small landscape projects. The owner, Mumtaz Mirza (Taz), is a graduate of the University of Manitoba with a B.A. in Environmental Design and a Master's degree in Architecture and Design. After working as a landscape architect for an architectural firm in Manitoba and two years as a senior landscape designer in Calgary, he opened his own business in landscape design and construction in the spring of 2015. He came to talk to Ace for SEO Consulting before the 2018 season. He had been in business during three landscaping seasons and wanted more work.

A Discussion on How Digital Marketing Could Help This Struggling Landscaping Business We discussed the specifics of tweaking the website design and optimizing web pages. We provided strategy on search engine optimization, including Calgary-focused local SEO, being on Google Maps, and having a presence on social media. We listened to what he said, what his hopes and dreams were for his business, and how he wanted to be a contributing member of the Calgary community. Website and Digital Marketing Evaluation When we audited the landscaping website, we discovered gaps in his digital marketing efforts. We uncovered opportunities on where we could help, make improvements, and fill in the gaps where he currently had no online presence. We presented him with a comprehensive website audit report of our findings as well as a set of SEO improvements and recommendations. As we do with all clients, even university graduates, we used layman's terms instead of technical jargon. We explained what we found and what he needed to do next to achieve a more forceful presence on the internet and bring more customers to his door. Website Redesign and Construction, SEO, and More The work we did for Tazscapes started with a redesign of his website. Website optimization and on-page SEO were the priorities. Then we set up to do blogging and content marketing for Tazscapes as well as link outreach, link building, and video marketing. He needed press releases, which we did as well. Social media is a significant factor in today's world of digital marketing, and we set this up also. When we are doing the work for any client, we stay in touch to make sure they know that we will get the job done on time and that we are fulfilling our agreement. In this case, it was especially important to have the redesign of the site completed and all of the digital marketing improvements up and running before the relatively short Alberta landscaping season. We did this with Tazscapes and reassured him that we would have everything in place when people started looking for landscapers for the 2018/2019 season.

Results

The Website Traffic Results Were Impressive Our first and foremost goal was to increase the number of visitors to the newly designed Google-friendly and User-friendly landscaping website. The hope of our landscaper client, Taz, was to see more customers coming calling him asking for his services. We were both very pleased. Taz had more folks asking for his services and more business almost right away. We tracked the visitors to his website and compared 2019 to 2018 with the new site and SEO improvements. The results were spectacular! The following Google Analytics graph with orange line shows website visits for Tazscapes before he talked to us in 2018, and the blue line shows how things went in 2019 - after he obtained the internet marketing and SEO services of ACE SEO Consulting. The data from the graph represents a 482% increase in new users through SEO. We were (and still are) very pleased with this result and to have helped a new business in Calgary to attract more customers.
