King Of The Online Jungle
Challenge
The Elmwood Park Zoo is a Philadelphia-local non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire people to care about wildlife conservation by introducing them to the very animals they can protect. This client partnered with 1SEO to generate brand awareness, grow their support from the community, and generate more money for their cause. Believe it or not, Elmwood Park Zoo has major local competition. Compound that with the fact that their business is quite seasonal and their status as a 501(c)(3) limited their revenue — thereby limiting their budget — and you’ve got several challenges that could inhibit success if not addressed carefully. Also, this client’s most important performance metric is foot traffic. With all that in mind, we set our sights on incremental progress instead of immediate, exponential results.
Solution
The paid search team at 1SEO built Elmwood Park Zoo’s Google Ads campaigns with an approach that optimized for store visits and heavily emphasized employing Google’s AI to be successful. We also wanted to be as aggressive as we could in the map pack to inspire users to show interest by clicking for directions. Finally, even though foot traffic is the most important thing here, we did not want to forget about targeting website ticket purchases — which we did using automated bidding to target site visitors, similar audiences, and other qualified people who had previously demonstrated interest and intent.
Results
1SEO’s efforts for Elmwood Park Zoo wildly exceeded all expectations, pulling the organization from online obscurity and thrusting it into the minds of zoo-goers across the Greater Philadelphia area. 377% Increase in Qualified Website Traffic 4,205% Local Requests for Directions 1,915% Increase in Conversions 10,679% Store Visits Recorded
