Challenge

Before Recharger, users had to scratch the top-up card, enter the PIN manually, and dial the USSD code to top-up their mobile credit. But shortly we found out that this process was very frustrating and takes up a lot of time. and because Sri Lankans care about their time a lot, we knew we had to do something about it.

Solution

Our solution made the process simpler. Users just had to scratch the top-up card, open the Recharger app, scan the top-up card using the camera, and the app would automatically identify the PIN number and their mobile career so the only thing they have to do is just tapping on the dial button. That’s it. And users loved it.

Results

Facts could be dodgy, but statistics cannot lie. Recharger definitely made an impact among the Prepaid users; the below stats prove just that. 5K Downloads — first week 25K Downloads — third week 300K Downloads — total (Feb 2018) Final Outcome — Recharger launched on Android to wide critical acclaim. In the first week, More than 100,000 scans have been made with an average of 100 active users at any given time. It changed the way Sri Lankans top-up their mobile credit. It has gone viral in social media and it’s quickly becoming the go-to-method of topping up mobile credit in Sri Lanka.
