Challenge

The National Center for Learning Disabilities (NCLD) had a limited online presence and was not gaining the traction and visibility that they had hoped with their website. Being a non-profit, they heavily rely on online exposure and referrals. NCLD partnered with Teknicks to improve their online search presence, increase traffic to their website, and improve their overall website usability and conversion rates in hope to spread the NCLD name and cause. The NCLD Mission The mission of NCLD is to improve the lives of the one in five children and adults nationwide with learning and attention issues—by empowering parents and young adults, transforming schools and advocating for equal rights and opportunities. We’re working to create a society in which every individual possesses the academic, social and emotional skills needed to succeed in school, at work and in life.

Solution

Phase I Initial Roadmap, Design & Development The Teknicks Team worked hand in hand with the NCLD team to develop a realistic roadmap including multiple phases of site updates and marketing. The first step was to redesign the entire NCLD website. Teknicks worked with developers, their in-house designers and alongside the SEO and Analytics team to bake in all search engine and CRO best practices during the website development phase. Teknicks conducted in-depth keyword research across all learning disabilities and carefully optimized the website to represent the most highly searched phrases, disabilities, topics, and questions. Phase II Increase Traffic & Online Visibility Post the new site launch, Teknicks developed an aggressive Link Building and Pay per Click program that had the primary goal of driving qualified traffic to the website. Running simultaneously, Teknicks kicked off an online engagement and social marketing program to directly interact with parents and teachers that would benefit from the resources and information on NCLD.org. Phase III Brand Growth & Awareness As NCLD was reaching the peak of their success, the organization was working to launch a new initiative called Understood.org. This new non-profit was a collaboration of multiple organizations, all working together to provide the best possible resources to parents of children with learning disabilities. Due to the great success NCLD experienced with Teknicks, we were brought in to increase the awareness and online visibility of Understood. Teknicks worked with the Understood team to optimize the new website as well as hundreds of articles and resources. We started to see great success in traffic growth, and Google rankings for priority keywords such as dyslexia. We expanded our link building strategies and managed their Google Grant AdWords campaigns. The campaigns were run so successfully that they were awarded the Google Grants Pro account, which provided them with $40,000/month in AdWords budget. Understood.org continues to see great success and massive growth month over month while providing the highest quality of resources and information to parents.
