Main Street Engineering
Challenge
As Better Neighbourhoods expanded its services, the engineering side of the business began to flourish—but the brand didn’t reflect this growth. Potential clients were unaware that engineering was even part of the offering, and the company wasn’t appearing in local search results for engineering services. To address this disconnect, the team decided to launch a new sister company: Main Street Engineering. The challenge was to establish this new brand as a trusted, recognizable firm in the local engineering space, without losing its connection to Better Neighbourhoods’ roots in consulting and urban design. Main Street needed a website that felt distinct yet familiar—professional and visible, while still reflecting its thoughtful, community-based approach.
Solution
To position Main Street Engineering as a credible and recognizable local firm, we began by uncovering its brand story. Through collaborative sessions with Sarah and interviews with Dan and Adam, we identified the firm’s differentiator: thoughtful engineering rooted in strong community values. These insights shaped a unique value proposition to guide all digital messaging. We structured the project in clear phases. First, we built a detailed sitemap and selected a strategy for the site architecture. We landed on a “values relate to services” approach to highlight Main Street Engineering’s identity while supporting keyword-rich SEO. This allowed us to showcase what the firm does and what it believes in—side by side. For the design, we looked to both regional competitors and large European firms to establish a high standard, while ensuring the site reflected the tone of Southern Ontario’s engineering landscape. Using Adobe XD, we worked closely with Sarah to iterate on layouts and design features until we reached a final product that aligned with the brand’s goals. Once the design was finalized, we collaborated on web copy development. We used Dan and Adam’s language—especially around values and about us content—for authenticity, and supplemented it with SEO-driven, user-friendly content based on our interviews. The website was built in WordPress using Elementor, with performance, accessibility, and UX in mind. Notable features included: Interactive Services Section: Enables visitors to explore offerings in a dynamic, engaging way. Button Hover Effects: Adds subtle animations for smoother navigation and visual interest. Interactive Process on Contact Page: Clearly outlines the firm's working process, helping prospective clients understand what to expect. The result was a strategic, brand-aligned website that showcases Main Street Engineering’s strengths and values.
Results
Main Street Engineering now enjoys a website that represents their values and core brand message as well as stands out against local competitors and elevates their brand image.
