Improving User Engagement with a Website Redesign
Challenge
The Made in Oklahoma Coalition (MIO) is a public-private partnership that uses collective marketing to build consumer awareness of Oklahoma-made food products. Members are involved in farming, food production, and the restaurant industry. The website needed to educate consumers about the economic impact of purchasing from local businesses, promote member products, and share recipes with the public. Unfortunately, the website did not have the look or functionality they needed. Website Creation. User Experience. Photoshoot.
Solution
We created a custom website with all of the needed functionality. The homepage immediately shows the positive economic impact that the MIO Coalition has on the state with statistics. There is also a video section that showcases a member. It is simple to change this section as new videos become available. We also created a clean, easy-to-navigate Member’s Page, making it effortless for visitors to search companies and their products. Additionally, we streamlined the member application process with a new online form. We gave the recipes an upgrade. Now, visitors can search recipes by category, and the steps and ingredients are clearly outlined. The addition of professional photoshoots helped visitors to the site build a personal connection with the MIO team. At the same time, MIO members who participated in product photography added enticing galleries for their pages.
Results
Website views increased, and the user experience greatly improved, making the site a valuable resource. In fact, MIO promoted member restaurants that offered pickup and deliveries during COVID.
