Corina’s Switchy
Challenge
We’ve been working with Corina’s Drinking Vinegars since their inception, helping them with brand name and product name development, logo design, packaging design and copywriting, website design, and everything else they’ve needed to launch this new food and beverage brand.
Solution
A ‘switchy’ is really a modern take on a drink called a switchel, a thirst-quencher that’s been around since the Colonial era. Corina’s Switchy combines a healthy shot of apple cider vinegar with fresh citrus, ginger, and other natural ingredients for a bubbly, delicious blend. Originally the drink was going to be called Blossom, a nod to its botanical roots, but the more we thought about it, the more it made sense to use the founder’s first name as the brand name. The drink was really a passion project for Corina Belle-Isle and an extension of her own curiosity about food and flavor. The logo features a magpie named Maggie. Legend has it that magpies are ultra-curious creatures and are known for stealing shiny objects for their nests. It seemed like a perfect fit for the brand and allowed us to the give the logo and packaging a playful star. Packaging design and copywriting work included developing the overall design and text for the cans, and then figuring out a system by which additional flavors can be incorporated easily without needing to rethink the design. DELIVERABLES & SERVICES: Logo Design + Packaging Design + Name Development + Website Design Packaging design work included developing the overall design and copy for the cans, and then figuring out a system by which additional flavors can be incorporated easily without needing to rethink the design. Maggie is such a distinct logo and mascot that it felt natural to dig into her backstory. Here’s a bio we developed for the website. When you’re looking in the drink cooler, there’s Maggie’s, looking right back at you. Corina’s plays well with others as a mixer. We’re not bartenders, but that’s never stopped us from developing a delicious cocktail recipe or two.
