Challenge

Red Bull needed a partner to concept and capture a season-worth of content with NBA-superstar Anthony Davis in a limited window of time, while simultaneously coordinating a prank video on AD featuring Hall of Famer Karl Malone.

Solution

The Idea. Content inside of content. While we couldn’t double the length of the shoot, we could double the amount of production. While capturing the social content with AD, our crew separately filmed and directed the prank with Malone, disguised as one very-tall custodian, who kept “interrupting” our shots with AD.

Results

4 million views in its first two days on Red Bull’s YouTube Channel. The most-watched video of 2018 on Yahoo! Sports with 24 million views (over 14 million more than the second place video). Bonus Content: AD and his team were so ecstatic about the reception that we helped him create an April Fool’s Day prank where the superstar shaved off his signature unibrow. Posted to both Davis’s and Red Bull’s social channels, “The Shaving” received more than 10 million views as well.
