Challenge

INTRODUCTION WannaThankYou is a social network platform that lets users express their gratitude with fellow users or non-users. Users can either choose a Thank You message from the WannaThankYou template or write their own personalized message. WTY THANKSGIVING 2018 CAMPAIGN As WannaThankYou revolves around the concept of gratitude, the arrival of Thanksgiving meant it was time for us to roll out the red carpet. We decided to leverage this event to increase the followers and bring in new users. We realized we had many followers on the WTY Social Media accounts who were not WTY users. Our goal was to convert the social media followers into users and run a successful campaign.

Solution

DESIGN AND TECH Being a tech-driven Digital Marketing Agency, by default, we eliminate technical hitches, if any, before running any campaigns. We started by updating our Landing Page for the Thanksgiving 2018 Campaign. Since the campaign was a contest, the landing page had to be designed accordingly, friendly enough for the users to participate. SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING The entire campaign of Thanksgiving circled around Social Media Marketing since one of the main objectives was to convert the social media followers into the users. We started ideating on campaign post ideas to be published on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. PERSONAL MESSAGES TO FOLLOWERS We wanted our followers to feel special and appreciated. To maximize our followers’ engagement, we posted individually Thanksgiving wishes on many of our followers’ wall. FEATURING CONTESTANTS’ GRATITUDE STORIES We did expect a lot of heartwarming gratitude stories, and we featured them on our portal, thereby encouraging a lot more participants to share their stories. APPROPRIATE TARGETING The ad was not run on generic terms but based on right strategy. The right kind of audience based on their age group, location, profession, and such other factors were considered. OPTIMIZED IMAGE AD The success of an ad campaign also majorly depends on the image which needs to be optimized to gain the maximum reach. A good quality image, a crisp message and a sound image to text ratio helped us reach a wider audience. PLACEMENT OF AD There are several considerations to be made while placing an ad. It can’t simply be faced anywhere which sometimes may even backfire on us. Right placement of ads helped in fetching more eyeballs and getting more people to the landing page.

Results

A. Organic TRENDING HASHTAGS The following efforts brought in 2.5K+ visitors to the landing page- Trending hashtags Personal Messages to Followers Featuring contestants’ gratitude stories Extensive research was made on the trending hashtags. Since social media is driven by hashtags, we wanted to use the ones which would help our post be discovered by as many audiences as possible. B. Paid SOCIAL MEDIA ADS Although the contest gained wide popularity among the followers and was getting us more traffic organically, we also went for paid promotions which brought in extraordinary results due to- Appropriate Targeting Optimized Image ad Placement of Ad THE CAMPAIGN OUTCOME The campaign was a massively successful one making November (The month of Thanksgiving) a phenomenal one for WannaThanakYou. Below is the data during the month of November 2018 when compared to that of October 2018 The New Sign Ups in November increased to 516.67% The page likes on the Social Media in November increased by 34%
