Challenge
Taxi App UK is the first in its type, taxi hailing app in the United Kingdom that is financed and managed by Drivers themselves. Our client aimed to develop a non-profit taxi app which is controlled by licensed drivers of London. With its own unique set of features, this on-demand Taxi booking App intents to provide smooth, easily accessible and secured taxi app solution that could provide a great value for time and money to all. Our client was dismayed by the fact of current scenario of online taxi booking industry that is incubated on the racks of money men who have little regard for local industry and that, the industry is beholden by big corporate investors or its shareholders those have a disconnect with the unique qualities that could make taxis in London renowned in the world over. This loophole in the existing system led them to build an app that differs from all and concentrates solely on trade and is run by the driver themselves with no third party in between to soak up their hard work with no lucrative returns. Client Goals A fully functional Taxi App that have all the latest features like: Tracking driver’s location in real time and call drivers for pickups in real time. For customers, flexibility to book instant rides and prebook for later date or time. For drivers, to accept instant rides and pre booking rides in a specific time frame. A feature that could record the waiting time of driver after the arrival at pick up location. Calculate the precise fare based on locations, distance and day time. An admin panel where we can check in the dashboard the number of active drivers, active customers and bookings, ongoing trips, total amount earned etc. A live app to track the taxis on google map in real time. An advanced ride report section where admin can see driver report, customer report and the ride report. Butler integration to order a taxi with a simple click on a button.
Solution
Once we analyzed the visions, strategy, goals and values of our client our design team worked upon the identity design by brainstorming the core concept of project incubation and they came up with a finalized design that smartly infused brand architecture and brand identity nurturing the final brand intent. Our design team and development team together worked upon three Panels: Customer, Driver and Admin/Dispatcher. Here is a sneak peek of same. Taxi App Development Our development team initiated the process by building a system for three separate user roles in the app: Driver, Customer and Admin. On this development process, they have brainstormed and met certain challenges like: Drivers don’t have to worry about how they’ll get the payout of their income. Drivers only have to focus on jobs and under a reasonable payment processing time, they will get the money directly into bank account without any processing fee. Applied security logics to prevent fraud and fake jobs. System tracks the time how long any customer kept driver waiting for pickup. Estimated fare calculation based on locations, distance and day time. We’ve built a very smart system for jobs management; even driver cancels the ride at last moment. System will take care of you and will assign you a new driver. App is secured, payment processing is safe. We don’t use your information for any purpose without permission. Tracking with advance level of GPS usage and optimization to deliver best location to passenger. And butler integration to increase the number of bookings.
Results
After a close collaboration with TAXI APP UK team, Codiant pioneered a safe, reliable and classic solution that aptly addressed the client’s goals, the core of their ideas, and came out to be a super user friendly taxi app loaded with handy features that can be handled even by a novice user.
