Challenge

Dairy Block is a marquee mixed-use project in Denver’s historic Lower Downtown neighborhood. This game-changing development represents the district’s transition from office-oriented tourist hub to twenty-four-hour, local hangout. ArtHouse Design partnered with teams from McWhinnney, Huckleberry Coffee, Sage Hospitality and Sage Restaurant Group to bring this project to life through signage, wayfinding and placemaking.

Solution

Beginning with an extensive Comprehensive Sign Plan that determined signage allotments and placement for the entire city block-sized project and its tenants, ArtHouse then created signature moments that help establish a unique sense of place. This extends from the interior of the project where you can find custom office tenant signage and wayfinding elements, to the exterior project identification signage such as monument signs, wall signs and three-dimensional projecting signs. In addition to the project signage, ArtHouse designed sculptural, eye-catching elements for several of the retail and restaurant tenants such as Kachina Cantina, Poka Lola Social Club, the Maven Hotel and Huckleberry Roasters. Additionally, ArtHouse also oversaw the implementation of other branding and signage elements throughout the project to help ensure a tangible sense of cohesion and overall level of quality for all of the elements.
