Going Viral With #Sky150
SKY Helicopters is a helicopter company located in Pitt Meadows, BC, that hosts Pacific Northwest flight adventures and exciting sightseeing experiences from Vancouver to the Lower Mainland. These flights are an exciting tourist experience as well as a huge draw for locals to experience their beautiful backyard in a new way. When campaigning for a company around a national holiday, you’ve got to think outside the box. It was a make or break situation for SKY Helicopters who needed to bulk up sales and generate awareness about their brand.
To celebrate Canada turning 150 years old, SKY Helicopters worked with a partner company to wrap one of their helicopters with the Canada 150 logo. The helicopter was the foundation for a SKY 150 campaign that offered all Canadians the chance to win one of 150 gift cards worth $100 each. A big part of our campaign entailed reaching out to over 100+ social media influencers, some who we had a previous strong relationship with and others who were hand selected because of their account vibe and audience engagement.
During the campaign, SKY Helicopters pages likes went up over 6,000, reach was just under 258,000, and total video views was at 49,661. The campaign increased their social media following by 140%, from 11,134 to 15,559 and introduced their brand to a total of 90 new audiences through social media influencers. While the focus of our campaign was to increase the brand awareness of our client and reach out to a new audience, we saw an unexpected spike in website traffic compared to the previous year (+ 629%).
