Freelance Marketplace for Engineers
Challenge
Field Engineer is a gig economy platform for freelance engineers to find work and get paid. To create a web and mobile app for businesses and engineers to contract, in addition to a marketing website to educate and onboard. Participants indicated that they do not use the Field Engineer mobile platform very often as key functionalities are not surfaced and hidden. Also remarking that it is cumbersome to filter jobs or having to hunt for information relevant to them. Problem Large telecommunication companies were having a problem. Their workforce was predominantly made up of union workers who were prone to going on strike. The concept of a freelance engineer did not really exist yet, so how might we create a marketplace that could make it easy for Engineers to go freelance and telco's to hire them?

Enter Field engineer, an all in one two-sided global marketplace to connect freelance engineers with the companies that need them. Process 01 Research & Strategy Our team embeds alongside yours to help define the strategic vision, conduct research and learn how to drive business value while building products users love. Ethnographic Research Quantative Analysis Stakeholder Interviews Persona Identification 02 Design Sprints We run a 5 day concept driven Design Sprint that uses Design Thinking in cross-functional teams to design, prototype, and test solutions with users. Design Thinking User Journey Maps Concept Validation Feature Roadmap 03 Detailed Design Sprint We create design language systems to scale and work through complex user journeys to ensure all scenarios are accounted for tested prior to launch. Design Language System Usability Testing Interactive Prototype Detailed User Flows Solution Once a lo-fi prototype was built based on our design sprints, our team tested with a range of user types, and iterated the designs based on the rich feedback we received. Thereafter, we shipped a redesigned product via Zeplin to the dev team.
