Challenge

Coffee-mate has a lot of heart for Valentine’s Day and wanted to brew new fan connections by helping them express love for their perfect mates.

Solution

We all hope to wax poetic or paint the perfect picture of love for that special someone on Valentine’s Day. Unfortunately, tapping our inner Shakespeares can be a little daunting—especially when the PDA is on social. Coffee-mate wanted to step outside the cup to stir connections with fans on Valentine’s Day. Enter Design My Valentine: a two-day event when Coffee-mate and its legion of coffee-loving fans collaborated to create one-of-a-kind Valentines. Using everything from paint and glitter to sugar and coffee filters, artists worked in real time to create heartfelt masterpieces based on the short love notes fans submitted on social. Photographed art was sent back to fans within hours, capturing hearts instantly and generating the brand’s highest-ever engagement.
