THE HEBREW UNIVERSITY OF JERUSALEM Build initiatives to raise funds supporting research, innovation, and education that will attract gifted students and leading educators to the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. INSIGHT In 1955, Albert Einstein bequeathed his entire estate to the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, a school he founded. The most famous scientist of the 20th century would become the university’s spokesperson.
Solution
IDEA Create a series of landmark initiatives built around the 100-year anniversary of the publication of the General Theory of Relativity. The initiative included a museum, an international competition to find the next Einstein, a gala weekend in celebration of genius, and the world’s first 3D printed book written by 100 leading philosophers, scientists, Nobel Prize winners, authors, astronauts, and educators. GENIUS: 100 VISIONS OF THE FUTURE The world’s first 3D printed book containing the predictions of the next 100 years from leaders in the fields of science, literature, business, education, law, and art, with its 100 pages forming a three-dimensional portrait of Albert Einstein himself. THE NEXT EINSTEIN An international competition designed to find the next generation of scholars, scientists, and humanitarians by awarding cash bursaries and scholarships to ideas that embody the spirit of Albert Einstein. EINSTEIN’S INCREDIBLE UNIVERSE 3D A stunning, feature-length IMAX film documenting the life and times of one of the world’s most influential scientists and humanitarians. CELEBRATING A CENTURY OF GENIUS A multifaceted weekend held in Montreal, Quebec, Canada that brought together some of the world’s leading personalities across an array of disciplines, as well as students and dignitaries in celebration of Einstein’s eternal legacy.
Results
The Einstein Foundation represents the first-ever global branding of the legendary scientist and humanitarian, raising $8,000,000 in three years. The foundation counts such collaborators as NASA, The European Space Agency and the Smithsonian Institution.
