Challenge
Location: Seattle, WA Client: Seattle Parks and Recreation Project Description: Green Lake Community Center and Evans Pool is one of the oldest and most popular community centers in the city of Seattle. The center has reached the end of its useful life, and Seattle Parks and Recreation is replacing the facility to meet growing needs and ensure people of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy it for many years to come. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck in spring 2020, Seattle Parks faced a new challenge of conducting public outreach remotely as it worked to select a new location and design for the new community center and pool.

Services: - Strategic planning - Online open house with InfoCommunity.org - Graphic design - Online presentation - Informational video - Community priorities Survey S&A was hired to plan, implement, and report on a robust online engagement effort during the early design and site analysis phases. Extensive public feedback helped the planning team identify community priorities and select a new location within Green Lake Park.
Results
By the numbers, the project included: - 6,500+ visitors to the online open house with InfoCommunity.org - 4,100+ participants in the community priorities survey - 165 participants in an online presentation - 1 “History of Green Lake” video recording with more than 200 views.
