Challenge

The Rocky Mountain Wolf Action Fund is a determined and growing group of conservationists dedicated to passing a ballot measure to restore the gray wolf to the great wildlands of Colorado. Challenge The RMWAF approached Snowy Peak wanting an Introductory and Educational video for public awareness of their campaign. Prior to our client being involved, another video production company had filmed high-quality cinematic footage across parts of Colorado and at Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. Our goal was to match the quality of their footage and seamlessly blend the two different productions together, all while staying within a tight budget. A very late-season snowstorm also threw a wrench into the plan!

Solution

Solution Using a RED Gemini Cinema Camera with Xeen Prime lenses and the DJI Inspire 2 drone, we filmed across three days in Summit County, Colorado. After the late-May snowstorm, we delayed the shoot until mid-June… but wow, was it worth it! The mountains of Colorado were as green as we had ever seen them yet the snow-capped Rockies glistened in the summer sunshine. We worked VERY long days, filming both sunrise and sunset at nearly the summer solstice, but we would do it again in a heartbeat, no questions asked! It was a ridiculously fun shoot and we captured absolutely stunning footage all while staying true to the goal of RMWAF!

Results

Currently, the amazingly cinematic video is being used to garner support and raise awareness about this worthy initiative.
