Hewlett Packard Enterprise ProLiant Contest
Challenge
A hashtag styled contest program by Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) to increase awareness of the 25th ProLiant Anniversary. Participants had the opportunity to post a photo of their operating HPE ProLiant server to social media (IG/TW/FB) in four different categories using the appropriate hashtags for a chance to win (secure, remote, apps, resilient). The international program was open to multiple countries including Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada (excluding Quebec), France, Germany, India (excluding Tamil Nadu) , Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Philippines, Romania, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States (including Puerto Rico). The microsite was translated and localized accordingly as per the contest guidelines in 8 languages.
Solution
The contest allowed entrants to submit a photo of their legacy ProLiant server to one of three social media networks: Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. Entrants needed only to snap a photo, write a 280-character caption along with one of the four appropriate category hashtags: #HPEProLiantApps, #HPEProLiantRemote, #HPEProLiantSecure, #HPEProLiantResilient, include the entry hashtag #contest and post. RAVEN5 social media aggregators captured publicly posted submissions on all three networks. Entrants arrived at the ProLiant 25 microsite in a number of ways (i.e. via direct link or social media post) but were not required to opt-in or visit the site in order to submit an entry. The microsite acted as an information hub for all participating countries as it provided guidance on how to enter as well as localized legal official rules and privacy policies.
