Challenge

How to inspire a million Black families? That was the question we collaborated on with the leaders of the Black Artists + Designers Guild. Their answer was Obsidian, a virtual concept house designed for Black families. We were asked to frame the project with strong visuals rooted in the richness and variety of Black cultural heritage for today’s black audience.

Solution

We consulted with the Guild on their inaugural initiative, designing visual graphics to better represent their core values of equity, sustainability and joy. After a deep dive into African and Black American art and design, we created initiative logos, developed a color palette and created graphics for social media, products, and supported graphics for their online gala event for the launch.
