With 30 years of expertise in developing and implementing order management, Freestyle Solutions (formerly known as Dydacomp) is the leading provider of best-in-class cloud and on-premise inventory and order management software containing thousands of features that help streamline the entire order lifecycle, from order capture and payment processing to shipping and customer communications. Enabling retailers to have full control over cross-channel order and fulfillment processes, Freestyle software solutions have been trusted by over 2000 multichannel merchants seeking to automate their back office operations and propel business growth. On average, their customers engage more than one million shoppers daily and generate more than $2 billion in orders annually. Offering two software delivery options – Omnichannel Management Service and Multichannel Order Manager – Freestyle empowers retailers and brands to implement the solution best suited for their business. Freestyle Omnichannel Management Service (O.M.S.) is the company’s next generation Software as a Service (SaaS) cloud-based inventory and order management system that seamlessly connects ecommerce platforms with sales channels, shipping providers, and accounting software as well as automates the process of managing inventory, processing orders, and reconciling accounting for mid-market B2C companies looking to expand. Freestyle Multichannel Order Manager (M.O.M.) is the most comprehensive on premise order and inventory management system available that is designed to help mid-market B2B and B2C companies maintain full control over their environment, data, and infrastructure. Through taking advantage of these two software solutions that integrate easily with ecommerce platforms, B2B and B2C companies have every opportunity to drive profitable revenue, amplify efficiency, and improve the customer experience whatever their omnichannel order, inventory or customer management needs are. Challenge By the time Freestyle Solutions (as Dydacomp at that moment) contacted our Magento ecommerce agency, they had been implementing a network interface to Magento 1.6 and 1.7 Community editions with Magento’s XmlRpc and Soap interfaces for retrieving merchants’ product, customer and order information into Freestyle’s order management SaaS application. The pain points they faced were slow download time for large numbers of products as well as low transfer rates while importing and exporting data. Say, the time to retrieve product information from Magento into their application would take up 5 hours for about 6,000 products, which was unacceptable in business terms. That being said, the primary objective for our certified developers was to build a new core for their order management system to accelerate Magento data import and export.
Solution
Huge amount of data might be very troublesome to process, whereas fast access is mission critical for successful and profitable business. Therefore, we did our best to provide customized solution to our client through compiling a new version of the system core thus making the process of data importing and exporting a good bit easier and swifter. The system updates, the code optimization and bug fixing were just a tiny bit of all solutions on our way to results.
Results
As a result of our technical support we achieved a more optimized code enabling to perform multiple input/output operations at a fast clip. Now the whole process of database access takes up much less time, which might bring more value to any business and help it stand out.
