About Acima Credit project Acima provides a fresh alternative to traditional consumer lending, changing the world with technology that allows for instant decision-making and flexible payment solutions. Deloitte ranks Acima as 64th in their Technology Fast 500 ranking for North America. Extending an MVP with new features The product is continually being extended with new features as the client’s business grows and requires change. iRonin.IT began cooperating with Acima when the product was in its early stages, an online system with limited functionality. We’ve continued to support the project ever since. Building a leasing management system We developed a solution that would allow Acima’s team to easily manage new requests from customers and seamlessly process payments for existing leasings. A second application analyzes potential customers’ data. iRonin.IT’s team also delivered a customer portal for easy access. Adding integrations with external systems Various external and internal systems support the main Acima platform. These integrations are based on a custom API developed by our team. The most complex aspect of this part of our work was to ensure that taxes would be calculated properly for all payments, based on provided data.
Solution
We developed the MVP into a comprehensive, scalable software, with fast access to leasing and an intuitive lease management system. Acima’s platform allows employees to easily oversee leasing applications. It stores information on users’ leasing history and payments.
Results
Zero downtime migrations An application like Acima has to be accessible to users even while a new version is being implemented or a major update to the database is underway. Continuity of service is crucial for Acima's clients. Effective development process We improved the delivery process, using best practices, such as smart team division, splitting large tasks into segments, building an autonomous team, and running code reviews and testing sessions. Elimination of tax calculation errors The tailor-made solution provided by iRonin.IT’s development team verifies the results of calculations provided by an external automated tax compliance software, allowing for double verification.
