Budu Sushi is a new Asian food restaurant located in Odessa, Ukraine. Budu Sushi menu has a wide range of Asian food, including sushi, sashimi, salads, desserts, and soft drinks. As many new offline businesses, Artem Kitayev, the owner of Budu Sushi, faced such difficulties as the absence of loyal customers, low income, and no online presence. He decided to digitalize his business to start receiving orders from the Internet. Solution

The Vision of the Project In the initial stage, we created a vision of the project that meets the business needs and the buyers' expectations. Budu Sushi vision is to provide customers with a convenient and straightforward Asian food ordering experience. The primary goal of this website is to automate the order process, reduce the load on the call center, and bring more orders from the internet. Then, we selected the most useful and trendy features for the future website. Loyalty Program To motivate customers to buy more often at Budu Sushi website, we decided to implement a loyalty program. Budu Sushi customers receive bonuses from each order made from the site. They could use these rewards to pay for some part of their order. Franchise Available from the Website To stimulate business development and increase the number of Budu Sushi offline restaurants, we integrated such feature as selling franchise right from the home page. We implemented the contact form, where website visitors leave their contact details in the event they want to buy a Budu Sushi franchise. How We Did It Stage 1 Research and Project Road Mapping We did the market research to receive insights on the future vision of the project. Then, we determined the website ’s main components, created a development plan and assigned the appropriate development resources. Stage 2 The Development of the Website Design Then, our team created the design for Budu Sushi ordering website. Our focus was to attract customer attention to the product images and CTA buttons. Stage 3 The Development of the Website Back-End with Third-Party Integration and Front-End Development In this stage, we started the back-end development process using PHP, MySQL, and Yii 2 framework. We developed a user-friendly admin panel so that a business owner could manage orders. Our team integrated the website with 1C CRM system. We also did LiqPay integration. Likewise, at this stage, we developed the front-end. Technical Details • PHP, MySQL, and Apache (Yii 2 framework) power the back-end • We used React to develop a Budu Sushi front-end • 1C integration for keeping order information and calculating bonuses • LiqPay integration for online payments

Results

Our team successfully digitalized the offline restaurant business by developing a food-ordering website. Currently, the online ordering website brings BuduSushi restaurant on average 130 online orders each week.
