Global surf brand Rip Curl partnered with Cuker to elevate their cross-platform eCommerce experience with a progressive, gold-standard mobile responsive website.
Solution
Our goal was to create a best-in-industry responsive website - a digital hub for the brand. The objective was to drive engagement, and grow eCommerce, branded retail, and specialty retail sales. Most importantly, we needed to create an authentic website design that connects with their target audience of core surfers and stays true to Rip Curl's values and 46 years of rich history, while still innovating in this digital era Our content strategy combines the perfect balance of product marketing, athlete and event marketing, and lifestyle. Our strategy showcases the aspirational life of a surfer and the products that are a part of that lifestyle. We ensured every asset, image, and icon were pixel perfect, in a format that allows for scalability between devices. We wanted to ensure sharpness on every device and take advantage of HD displays in order to provide the best shopping experience possible. We upgraded the CMS and eCommerce platform to Web Cube 4.4, leveraging the latest performance, SEO, and platform features.We delivered a comprehensive set of features to support their brand messaging and integrated their CMS and eCommerce platform empowering the Rip Curl marketing and eCommerce teams.From content updates, to product merchandising, to social media curation, to fulfillment integration, the Rip Curl platform streamlines web management and empowers the Rip Curl client team. In today's mobile era, fast site performance is a key factor to success. We developed a cutting edge responsive experience that looks great and runs fast on mobile and desktop. We added endless scrolling to their product catalog for faster catalog browsing. We optimized the hosting using advanced CDN (content delivery network) tools, redundancy, and caching to deliver lightning fast page loads and reliable performance across all their international properties. We integrated internationalization, with geoIP redirects to all their international properties. To simplify the path-to-purchase, we observed consumer behavior and re-envisioned the eCommerce process - improving the user experience and reducing drop-offs.
