Challenge
Allegra is a renowned cruise booking agency in Montenegro and the main representative of the world’s biggest cruise brands for the Balkan region. The agency represents brands such as Royal Carribean, MSC, Norweigan Cruise Line, etc. Allegra’s direct connection with these companies enables its customers to have access to the best and affordable prices. To appeal its online target markets the company needed a refreshment in the design of the booking website and an expansion of functionalities that would satisfy those needs. CHALLENGES "Make the booking process as enjoyable as the cruise itself." It was necessary to create an attractive design for both young users and elderly users, which will maintain a brand awareness. Moreover, the challenge presented developing a solution for that is easy to manage and setting up even the smallest of details for Allegra employees who are not experienced web administrators The goal of the project is increasing the conversion rate of the website, making it even more convenient and user-friendly.
Solution
The first site was developed more than 10 years ago. We redesigned and made an adaptation for modern web standards. Special client’s wish was to increase the fonts to make it user friendly for elderly users, who are an important target customer group. BOOKING ENGINE Allegra uses largest cruise booking hosting that exists in Europe. Its complete integration was one of the top priorities. After the stylization and adaptation booking engine works fluently. Now booking a tour is easier than ever! IMPROVED DESIGN In an effort to maintain a recognizable style, we reimagined the entire design with particular attention to detail. Features of the new style include spacious blocks, large typography, beautiful photos, intuitiveness. All of them make the website easier to use and more convenient. There is no visual noise or overload, nothing to distract you from making a conscious choice and getting all the information you need. Despite all the innovations, the site has retained its brandface and character - it is still the familiar and friendly. ACF PLUGIN INTEGRATION Thanks to our meticulous approach to development of the site, we have thought through everything to the smallest detail. This plugin enabled Allegra's team to easily make changes to the content in a couple of clicks and significantly optimize the costs of maintaining the website. IMPROVED UX FOR MOBILE Flexible and easy to reach. The new design is fully adaptive: it looks great with any amount of content and on any screen. When browsing on mobile, side menus on the right and left side provide users with good navigation throughout the website. BEYOND THE WEBSITE This project involved industry-first innovations, a total overhaul of the website and the building of a flawless booking process. It made Allegra Montenegro stand out among its competition and maintain its strong foothold in the regional market for booking cruise trips. The effectiveness of the redesign is best demonstrated by the increase of number of visitors. After the launch of the new site, conversion rate increased by 15% for the cruises in 2021, but the number would have been lot higher if not for the coronavirus pandemic uncertainty.
