A publishing agency, boasting a daily listener base of 10-20k users, approached us with a request for mobile app development. Their vision was to create an audio streaming app that not only offered a splendid user experience but also paved the way for new monetization channels while enhancing existing ones. The core objective of the mobile audio app development was to establish a versatile platform for generating, categorizing, storing, and delivering non-musical audio content to both freemium and paid users. Additionally, the app was designed to incorporate elements of a social network, an advertisement platform, and a workspace, all encapsulated within a visually appealing and intuitive UI/UX design.
Solution
The resulting app serves as a fully functional audio streaming platform MVP, featuring social networking elements, freemium mode, and a content creator workspace. It boasts a highly customized audio player. Significant attention was dedicated to implementing a robust data backup system capable of handling substantial data volumes, drawing upon our extensive experience with large video data sets. Ensuring robust copyright protection (DRM) for content is of paramount importance in the modern media landscape, particularly for audio streaming apps. We opted for a standard scheme using a built-in media server, with future considerations for potentially transitioning to our proprietary asymmetric encryption scheme in later developmental stages, currently in the planning phase.
Results
The developed system integrates multiple interfaces connecting various user types, backend servers, and media servers into a unified digital ecosystem. It incorporates specialized services within the professional audio streaming software. Following scope optimization, the solution aligns with the client's budget for the audio streaming app.
