Challenge

They say that football is the ‘other’ religion in the South. We couldn’t agree more! But before 2014, few folks knew you could ‘git yer fan on’ at the College Football Hall of Fame right here in Atlanta. The College Football Hall of Fame was established by the National Football Foundation in 1951 to honor those coaches and players who made amazing individual contributions to the sport. As of 2016, the Hall has inducted 977 players and 211 coaches. It was originally located in South Bend, Indiana, but moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 2014. As a destination, the new Hall is the cat’s meow for football fans, historians, and visitors looking for a fun, interactive learning experience. Fox Sports South says the Hall is a ‘must-see marriage of technology and the game’s past’. CHALLENGE: After their move from South Bend, Indiana to Atlanta, Georgia in 2014, the College Football Hall of Fame looked to increase ticket sales as well as awareness of their new location and the Hall’s uniquely high-touch learning experience.

Solution

The BG Team determined the best solution was to position the Hall as an interactive, family-friendly museum using event activations all over the nation that: Targeted families with active lifestyles who frequently attended community outreach events like local sporting events, professional sporting events, and state fairs and festivals Encouraged potential customers to engage with the Hall’s unique brand at events Created awareness of the Hall as a fun destination in Atlanta for all ages and levels of fandom Positioned the BG Team as ambassadors at each location to share little pieces of the Hall’s interactive experience with college football fans

Results

Events like the NFL Draft in Chicago, Falcon’s Tailgates, Georgia Tech football games, Georgia Public Broadcasting Georgia High School Football Games, The Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl, The National Championship in Phoenix, BBQ Festivals, and the Sandy Springs Festival helped position the College Football Hall of Fame as a new and improved approach to museum experiences. Locals, tourists, and football fans now see the Hall as a premier spot to enjoy a day of college football history. Recently, BG AD Group was put in charge of handling the College Football Hall of Fame’s Group Sales Department. Since working with BG AD Group, Hall ticket sales have increased, making it one of the top attractions in metro Atlanta.
