Challenge
Totally Chocolate – an eCommerce based B2B gifting company offering unique personalized chocolate gifts – is one of the most well known players in this space. For nearly 20 years the company had processed orders through email and phone, but wanted to move to a more modern and fully touchless ordering experience in which the customer could upload various logos and artwork, as well as select fully custom packaging, without ever having to speak with an agent. To herald this new ordering experience the company launched a full rebrand, complete with automated website ordering system, new packaging, and flavor options. In order to drive buyer confidence they needed to communicate both the new improved look as well as the ease of the company’s new ordering system in real time. Video was key part of this strategy and 1205 was there to help with multimedia content development.
Solution
Video Planning & Production 1205 project and production managers began working hand-in-hand with the company’s consulting and product design agency partners to scope and plan a hundred and twenty second video that would shadow the brand’s new updated catalog. Our production team developed the shot list, schedule, prop sheet, and advised on other planning documentation such as the script. In addition, 1205 worked to source studio time, lighting equipment, and other personnel resources like models and food stylists. Over three days of studio work, our team – including production manager, videographers, and camera assistants – captured twelve plus hours of high definition and 4k footage. Shots included closeups and flybys of the company’s new packaging as well as various scenes that featured seasonal table scapes and previously built custom chocolates created for industry leading companies like Google, FedEx, Morgan Stanley and others. 1205’s post production team cut and compiled raw footage to match the video’s planned storyboard – using elegant text overlays to communicate the updated value propositions. In addition to classic video editing, our team built custom motion graphic overlays that shaped the story by featuring mocked footage of the new online ordering process. To accomplish this, we used video editing footage like Premier and Adobe After Effects.
Results
Totally chocolate officially released the video just in time for the 2018 holiday gifting season. In addition to placing the video on various multimedia and social platforms, the company used it to drive extensive online advertising including display and social media advertising.
