Challenge

As the oldest business fraternity in the world, it’s no surprise that Alpha Kappa Psi’s list of alumni features some impressive names. Business leaders, university chancellors, and even Presidents of the United States of America learned some of their earliest business and leadership lessons as part of AKPsi, a non-residential business fraternity that serves both men and women. Today, the organization boasts 240,000 members at 265 schools across three countries. The organization’s goal, which has been the same since its founding in 1904, is to develop business students into principled business leaders. They achieve this through education, service opportunities, and an extensive alumni network that helps members (which they still call “brothers,” though it’s a co-ed fraternity) find career opportunities at some of the biggest companies in the world. While many of our clients have large marketing departments, and some have specialists dedicated specifically to communication, AKPsi stands out as an organization who rely heavily on their communication department. More than just marketing, the communication experts at AKPsi have a big job, managing all of the brand’s messaging to current students, prospective brothers, and their vast numbers of alumni working all over the world. That means developing materials for their active chapters, handling communications surrounding conferences and events, publishing The Diary (the organization’s print and digital magazine), and also maintaining an active online presence via their website and social media platforms. We began working with AKPsi in 2012, making them our oldest and longest-lasting client, and our relationship with the fraternity is one we continue to value. From our very first moment working together, we’ve been responsible for keeping their blog updated weekly, consulting with their amazing team of communication and marketing experts to provide a constant stream of valuable, engaging, and often humorous content for their membership at all stages of their careers.

Solution

Over the course of our long partnership, we’ve provided support in the development of an eBook designed to help college students and recent graduates learn etiquette and best practices surrounding professional networking. Most recently, we’ve also lent support on an as-needed basis for The Diary, helping to secure interviews and write articles to help meet publication deadlines.
